The Estate

Five acres in Linn County, Kansas. A place where the land teaches us daily— about patience, about seasons, about the quiet dignity of work done with care.

Our Story

Black Swan Estate began not with grand plans, but with simple questions: What if a farm could be both profitable and beautiful? What if distance from the city wasn't a barrier, but an invitation?

Under Layne's leadership, what started as a simple vision became something more deliberate: a working farm that grows premium flowers and microgreens for Kansas City's finest restaurants and florists, while building a comprehensive farm-to-consumer business model.

This is agriculture without pretense. We grow what thrives here. We sell what chefs request. We welcome guests who appreciate the rhythm of rural life without romanticizing it.

Our vision is simple: grow what thrives here, sell what chefs and customers truly want, and build a farm business that honors both the land and the people who depend on it.

The Land

Five acres of Kansas prairie, sun-soaked and wind-tested. The soil here is honest—it rewards attention and punishes shortcuts.

We've planted windbreaks to shelter the flowers. Installed drip irrigation to make every drop count. Built a predator-proof coop for the chickens. Infrastructure that matters more than aesthetics.

Just 75 minutes from Kansas City, close enough for weekend getaways and restaurant deliveries, far enough to feel like an escape.
